USHJA In Stride has been Selected as the New Name for the USHJA Magazine

March 2, 2006

In January USHJA asked its members for their help in naming the new magazine. With over 750 wonderful and interesting submissions to choose from the task of selecting one was not easy. Tara-Dawn Hazen of Millerstown, PA was the first person to submit the name USHJA In Stride. Tara Dawn has been involved with horses her entire life and has run Outlaw Stables for the past nine years. She has a successful business with over 40 students and runs the Perry County Horse Show series, which she began in order to provide riders of all abilities the opportunity to compete at an affordable price. For her winning submission Tara-Dawn will receive a one year subscription to Practical Horseman.

USHJA Executive Director, Susan Dotson, expressed her excitement about the name selection process, "We were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm that our members showed in helping us name the magazine. This is just the beginning of creating an organization where member involvement is what helps lead this industry into the future."

The four-color magazine will be produced in conjunction with the Primedia Equine Network, publishers of award-winning magazines Practical Horseman, EQUUS, Horse & Rider and Dressage Today. Each issue will feature news and notes, spotlights on horses, riders, owners, breeders and working students, updates on USHJA committees, zone news and much more.
