FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lexington, KY----- June 25, 2015----- USHJA announces more awards coming out of its Pre-Green Incentive Championship. As a sponsor of the Pre-Green Incentive Championship, KY Lake Trailer Sales is providing a one-year trailer lease to the USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Champion, and there is a new $2,500 High Score 4/5 Year Old Award, presented by Barnfield Foundation, making a total of $16,500 across six bonus awards on top of existing prize money.

"We're excited to offer great prizes to our competitors and look forward to another year of the best Pre-Green horses going head-to-head in the Championship," said Colleen McQuay, chair of the Pre-Green Incentive Task Force.

The USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Championship, which consists of three rounds of competition, will celebrate its third anniversary at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, August 11-13, 2015. All entries intending to compete in the 2015 Championship must be entered no later than July 22, 2015, and enrolled horses must compete in a minimum of two USHJA Pre-Green Stake classes at competitions starting between December 1, 2013, and August 5, 2015. For competitors who will not be able to compete in two Pre-Green Stake classes before the championship, USHJA offers a premium entry option of $3,000 in addition to the program enrollment fee and class entry fee. The entire premium entry fee is added directly to the championship prize money, and this option is designed to help those competitors who may not have regular access to Pre-Green Stake classes.

Since the program started in December 2012, the series and annual championships have generated more than $700,000 in prize money for Pre-Green horses. The 2014 Championship enjoyed a 22 percent increase in participation over the prior year with 131 horses competing for the title of USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Champion. The Championship prize money topped $186,000 in 2014, and once again 65 percent of annual enrollment fees and 50 percent of the entry fees make up the total prize money.

"We have incredible sponsors and support from across the hunter/jumper community that make this program and event more and more successful," McQuay continued. "At the end of the day, it's all about encouraging great breeding and the development of Pre-Green horses in this sport."

The following provides a comprehensive list of bonus awards available:
